BURN CENTER HONORED WITH A 5 STAR EXCELLENCE AWARD

Santa Clara County, CA. The Burn Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center was named a 2013 PRC 5 Star Excellence Award winner for the third year in a row. The Center received the 5 Star Excellence Award for scoring in the top 10% nationally in overall quality of care, having been rated as excellent by their patients. The award was presented at a national awards ceremony held in Orlando, Florida, attended by healthcare leaders from across the United States. The Regional Burn Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) is one of only two burn trauma centers in Northern California. With the most advanced burn treatment technology and techniques, these highly skilled specialists ensure the best possible patient care and increase the chances for recovery. The American College of Surgeons and the American Burn Association have verified that the Burn Center at SCVMC provides optimal care to burn patients from the time of injury through rehabilitation. The Burn Center treats about 250 hospital patients each year. PRC conducts research to obtain the opinions of patients via a confidential survey to assess their perceptions about the care they received.
