Saratoga Patch is happy to welcome Michelle Fitzsimmons, a bright, tenacious and courageous reporter, to its growing family of contributors.
Fitzsimmons will be helping Saratoga Patch Editor Sheila Sanchez cover the city, from school news to government stories.
The best part is that she's from Saratoga, having lived here since 1990 when her parents moved to the area when she was just 3 years old.
Fitzsimmons can't get any more local than that. She attended Sacred Heart School on Saratoga Avenue from kindergarten through eighth grade and attended Saint Francis High School in Mountain View.
Fitzsimmons fondly remembers running around her grandmother’s antique shop on Big Basin Way as she grew up and now enjoys walking that street, eating at the town’s many fine restaurants and cheering on the Falcons football team and wrestling squad.
Thanks to a stint as editor in chief of the UC Santa Cruz’s student-run newspaper, Fitzsimmons fell in love with journalism and has worked as a contributor and editor since graduating in 2005, including all the Silicon Valley Patch sites.
Saratoga Patch warmly welcomes Fitzsimmons to its growing family of contributors! Check out her stories this week on the site and give her your feedback, good and bad, in the comments.
