Saratoga Patch: What did you dream of being as a kid?
Bill Brobst: I always dreamed of being a veterinarian for big cats—lions, tigers at Marine World Africa USA. I always loved that place and dreamed of being able to spend time with and play with the big cats.

Patch: How does your personality play into your business?
Brobst: I have a big heart and love of animals. I like to laugh and joke around a lot and try not to take life's trials and tribulations too seriously. I try as much as possible to live in the moment and dogs do that better than anyone I know.

Patch: At what moment did you decide to open a business?
Brobst: I was at a point in my life that I was tired of working just to make a pay check, I once thought I wanted the big house on the hill with the three-car garage and all the rest. I came to realize, as many people tried to tell me growing up “Do what you love and the rest will work itself out.” So that's when I decided to start my own pet care business.
Patch: What inspired you?
Brobst: My Black Labrador Moose The Goose and my love of animals.
Patch: Describe the biggest challenge of owning a business in Saratoga?
Brobst: Well I guess the biggest challenge, no matter where you have a business, is getting your name out there and building up a solid clientele. I grew up in Saratoga and have lived throughout the Bay Area the majority of my life, so I have a pretty good understanding about the folks here. I believe my biggest asset is my knowledge and love of pets and showing people that my number one priority is the care and safety of their pet. I strongly believe pets are members of the family.
Patch: Describe the best thing about owning a business in Saratoga?
Brobst: It's a beautiful place to live and work. Great hiking trails, county parks, secret water holes for the dogs that love to swim. Lots of great restaurants and, best of all, the diverse group of people who love their pets as much as I do.
Patch: What is one thing you would never change about your business?
Brobst: I love to share with people what I know about dogs' needs and what I read about their behavior. It's awesome to see clients build closer and happier relationships with their pets and being a part of that.
Patch: What is your business' greatest asset?
Brobst: My love and compassion for animals' happiness and well being. Constant growth and building my knowledge base of dog training, behavior and understanding.
Patch: What is your favorite spot in Saratoga?
Brobst: Montalvo—the front lawn to the mountain trails.
Patch: What's one thing the community should know about you?
Brobst: Client or not, if you ever have a lost pet call, or email me and I will get in my car and help look for it ASAP.
