Elizabeth Darrow Named to Hospice of the Valley Professional Advisory Board

Santa Clara Family Health Plan CEO brings wealth of healthcare expertise to nonprofit

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 10, 2013 – Hospice of the Valley has named Elizabeth Darrow, CEO of Santa Clara Family Health Plan, to its Professional Advisory Board.

Darrow has been CEO of Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) since 2009, and is a national expert on health plan management and Medicare and Medicaid managed care program administration.

Focusing primarily on Medicare, Medicaid and Special Needs Plans, Darrow has extensive managed care experience having worked with health plans across the country on strategic planning, operations and compliance. She served as the Corporate Medicare Director for Schaller Anderson, Inc., where she coordinated implementation and start-up operations for health plans in Arizona, Maryland, Delaware and Texas. Before joining Schaller Anderson, she started the first Medicare Advantage PPO in Montana, where she served as executive director of government programs for New West Health Services.

Darrow held the dual positions of senior director of operations and chief compliance officer for Mount Carmel Health Plan, a provider-sponsored health plan in Columbus, Ohio.

She holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from Ohio State University.
