In the first of a three-part Adult Education Forum, that will look at the traditions and customs of grief as observed by different cultures, St. Andrew's will welcome Rabbi Philip Ohriner of Congregation Beth David in Saratoga at 11:30am-12:30pm on Sunday, October 27th. Rabbi Ohriner will talk about Jewish traditions and customs related to funerals and supporting persons who are grieving the death of a loved one. We can all learn a lot from the Jewish traditions about how to be sensitive and helpful to persons suffering loss. All are welcome to attend the forum and there is no charge for this event.
Rabbi Ohriner has been at Congregation Beth David since summer of 2010. He graduated from Indiana University with degrees in vocal performance and Jewish studies. He earned his M.A. in Hebrew Arts and Letters from the Jewish Theological Seminary and was ordained a rabbi in 2010.
