Community Corner

Jewish Traditions of Grieving

In the first of a three-part Adult Education Forum, that will look at the traditions, rituals, and customs regarding death and grieving of different cultures, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will welcome Rabbi Philip Ohriner at 11:30am-123:30pm on Sunday, October 27th in the Parish Center.  Rabbi Ohriner will talk about Jewish traditions, customs, and beliefs, and how the community comes together to support families in the initial week after they have suffered the loss of a loved one.  All are welcome to attend the Forum and there is no charge for this event.

Rabbi Ohriner has been at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga since summer of 2010.  He graduated from Indiana University with B.A. degrees in Vocal Performance and Jewish Studies.  He earned his M.A. in Hebrew Arts and Letters from the Jewish Theological Seminary and was ordained a rabbi in 2010.
