Hwy 85 express toll lanes and BMR housing demands

It behooves all of us in Saratoga, Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Cupertino and our other neighboring cities to become informed about VTA's plans for Hwy 85--to add 2 express toll lanes in the median where light rail was stipulated.

Once informed, we need to express our opinions to the VTA Board of Directors--information is on-line.

The same recommendations apply regarding the Below Market Rate housing demands that the State and ABAG are forcing cities to build.
ABAG is demanding that every City make BMR housing available but they are using the same cookie cutter plans for every city, even small ones. They are making assumptions that do not necessarily apply to small cities and towns; most assumptions are based on population growth.  Many small communities are not and will not grow; in spite of that ABAG is demanding that continually increasing numbers of BMR units be constructed

Again, becoming informed about these 2 critical issues that will affect every single resident of Silcon Valley is vital.  Once informed, it is equally as important to relay your opinions to the VTA Board of Directors and our elected State Representatives and Senators.  We also need to question the Assembly and Senate candidates regarding their views on those two issues.

Get informed, get involved.
