Selection of school board members is one of the most important decisions we can make in local elections because it directly impacts the families of our community.
For this reason, I enthusiastically support Rosemary Rossi and Katherine Tseng who are both committed to the education and welfare of all Los Gatos Saratoga Union High School District students.
They bring more than just credentials and skills that will serve the board well; they also bring a deep understanding of the students and families that are the result of their years of direct involvement with the schools.
Rosemary and I served as co-presidents of the Saratoga High PTSA where we worked on many school projects. I can say from firsthand experience that Rosemary is passionate about education and distinguishes herself by considering all sides of a matter to solve problems.
She is not one who is satisfied to rest on the schools’ laurels and will push to promote a supportive environment that ensures all students learn and feel connected to school. Forward thinking as always, she will also promote the effective use of technology in the learning environment and in how the schools are managed to ensure fiscal soundness.
Katherine is one of the most active parent volunteers I know. She has served as the co-president of almost every school organization there is including the Argonaut, Redwood, and Saratoga High PTAs, the Saratoga Education Foundation, the Saratoga High Foundation and the Saratoga Music Boosters.
She has also served on the budget committee and advisory council of SUSD for many years. I can’t think of a stronger testament of Katherine’s commitment to our schools and the trust the community has in her than this fact.
Both these leaders will approach the decisions they have to make with these factors in mind: 1) how will the learning of each student be affected, 2) what are the financial consequences to the district, 3) how does it affect personnel and 4) is there a better way to achieve the same goal?
Please vote for Rosemary Rossi and Katherine Tseng for LGSUHSD school board trustees to ensure the continued success and improvement of our schools.
