The Saratoga City Council will have its annual retreat at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Saratoga Prospect Center, 19848 Prospect Rd.
The event will start with communications from city commissions and the public, followed by a finance overview given by Saratoga Finance and Administrative Services Director Mary Furey, during which a light breakfast with coffee will be enjoyed.
After a 10:30 a.m. break, the Council will hear from Saratoga Community Development Director James Lindsay, who will present his department's work plan.
At about 12:30 p.m. Saratoga City Manager Dave Anderson will speak about process options for strategic planning, which will be followed by another break and then a presentation by City Clerk Crystal Bothelio, who will address the topic: "Dream Outside the Box: What Do We Want for Saratoga in the Future?"
"Participants will put an idea on an index card of something they would like to see done in the city ... anything they want ... and we will brainstorm those ideas. We hope it will be fun and educational," said Saratoga Mayor Jill Hunter.
"The Council and staff would love to have our citizens be part of the retreat and would particularly welcome ideas for the dream-outside-the-box exercise," she added.
