West Valley Mission Community College District Candidate Statement: Adrienne Grey
Current Board of Trustees president is hoping for a second four-year term on Nov. 6, 2012.
Campbell and West San Jose voters, I am proud to have served four years as your College Trustee. I humbly ask for your vote so I can continue safeguarding your family's interests in the educational opportunity that West Valley and Mission Colleges provide.
Accomplishments: responsible fiscal stewardship, balanced budget, cutbacks that respect employees and protect our core mission of student success, reduced textbook cost, new Campbell Center, LEED and solar installations, District-wide goal alignment, and a quarterly performance scorecard. I earned the respect of fellow trustees, who unanimously elected me Board President, and led the Measure C campaign to revitalize our aging campuses for the future.
California's excellent community college network launched my 30 year career in high tech business. Today I work as a management consultant, living in Campbell with my husband of 24 years. Our daughter, a recent Cal Poly graduate, attended community college too.
