Los Gatos' Fantasy of Lights Begins Friday!

Pay $10 for each vehicle with up to nine guests to watch Northern California's largest drive-through holiday light show starting Friday, Nov. 29 through Dec. 31, 2013.

The Santa Clara County Department of Parks and Recreation presents the 15th annual Fantasy of Lights Drive-thru Holiday Lights show at Vasona Lake Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd., in Los Gatos, at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 through Monday, Dec. 31, 2013.

Fantasy of Lights is said to be the premier largest holiday lights spectacular in Northern California.

The 1.5 mile family friendly drive-through holiday lights and display entertainment extravaganza features animated larger-than-life displays, many with their own sound effects such as those made by dinosaurs and an erupting volcano.

Also fun to watch are the sponsoring business signs delineated with multi-colored lights. Ethnic media signs were prevalent last year during the display such as those from El Observador, Viet Nam Daily News, Telemundo and Radio La Kalle.

Drivers tune their car radios to 104.1 FM to listen to holiday music during the ride.

Admission is $10 per vehicle with up to nine guests through Dec. 5 when the price increases to $15 per vehicle. Vehicles with between 10 and 25 guests are $25. It's $50 for commercial and school buses. Cash or check only are accepted, no debit cards.

Participants will receive a pair of 3D glasses with the program while supplies last.

There will be a MIX 106.5 Night event at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 where each driver will receive a free CD of holiday music, while supplies last.

Participants are encouraged to bring a donation of canned good or a cash/check contribution benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank.

This year, the event also features the so-called Reindeer Express bus tours for those who want to avoid waiting in the long line. Details: 408-354-8700.
